St Vincent de Paul Village

1993

OUR VILLAGE:
Unable to meet the needs of a growing number of people living with HIV/AIDS at its first Josue Home opened in 1988, St. Vincent added a second Josue Home in 1993, a third one in 1997 and two more in 2006. Today Josue Homes/National AIDS Foundation is the only transitional housing and services program for adults living with HIV/AIDS in San Diego County.

More than 100 nativity sets collected by Father Joe over 20 years were moved from the Village to 3350 E Street, San Diego, the new home office of St. Vincent Vincent de Paul Village. They are displayed annually from December to January 6. The collection has grown to over 700 sets.

St. Vincent provided supplies to Tijuana residents whose homes were ravaged by floods in January. In the fall it assisted victims in Los Angeles after the earthquake.
