Mental Health Services
“You came through for me when I was in crisis. You dealt with me like a real person, showing nurturing and respect.” – Village resident, to Mental Health staff
Mental health professionals in training and licensed professional staff provide psychological evaluation and therapy to Village residents who need mental health assistance. Fifteen students from disciplines of psychology, social work, and marriage and family counseling deliver services to these residents. The students work in either the Child and Family track, led by a Ph.D. psychologist, or in the Adult Track, supervised by a Ph.D. psychologist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Individual, family, child and couples therapy are available to all residents. Support groups and classes open to residents focus on anger management, coping with chronic illness, grief and loss, healthy relationships, and parenting. Working through mental health issues helps residents to more effectively focus on their journey to self-sufficiency.
Impact:
Over 350 residents of all ages are referred annually to Mental Health Services.
