Our Services

St. Vincent de Paul Village saves lives, inspires lives and changes the lives of our neighbors in need in the largest one-stop center in the region offering a comprehensive continuum of housing and services with no wrong door of entry or exit. The Village is located on a 3.5-block campus in the East Village neighborhood of downtown San Diego and serves families with children, single women, and single men including chronically homeless individuals, veterans and people living with addiction and/or mental illness. Providing 41 percent of all available transitional housing beds in the city of San Diego on a nightly basis, the Village is the largest residential homeless services provider in the city. The Village also manages 362 units of Permanent Supportive Housing providing people with a permanent solution to homelessness.

Basic Services
The Regional Task Force on the Homeless counted 9,020 sheltered and unsheltered homeless in the County of San Diego, an increase of 19% from 2008. Of those who are homeless in the County, 5,895 people are homeless in the City of San Diego on any given night.

St. Vincent de Paul Village saves lives every day by providing: Interim Housing, Homeless Prevention Services, Meals, Healthcare and the Mobile Health Clinic.

Inspiring Lives
Transformational Services
Inspiration starts with a place to call home. Our homeless neighbors who become residents of the Village are paired with a specialized multidisciplinary Transformational Team. There are four Transformational Teams, Family Team, Veteran Team, Career Track Team and Benefits Track Team. Team members work with clients to develop individualized case plans that focus on the issues contributing to each client’s homelessness and targeting a rapid return to permanent housing as the primary goal. Team members use motivational interviewing and a solution focused approach to support clients throughout their Village experience.

The Village’s Transformational programs are: Transitional Housing, Case Management, Addiction Treatment & Education Center, Mental Health Services, Village Family Health Center, Career & Education Center, Chaplaincy, Child Development Center, Assessment Center, Culinary Arts Program (CAP), Health & Wellness Program, and Housing Counseling.

Changing Lives
Independent Services

Realizing that permanent housing is the ultimate solution for neighbors in need, we focus on helping clients secure income, which makes attaining permanent housing achievable.

We support our graduates’ independence by providing: Permanent Supportive Housing, Tenant Services, Village Act Project, Project 25, and the Veteran's Homelessness Prevention Demonstration Project.
